In recent times, the fixed LED display has gained wide coverage and recognition due to its sterling advertising functions.

Fixed LED Display

The demands for it are currently rising on a daily basis as many businesses now have a preference for it as a better way of showcasing their products and services to the eyes of millions of people.

With a fixed LED display you can put up your adverts in style either in exhibition centers, conferences, cafes, restaurants, shopping malls, etc.

However, navigating the fixed LED display market can be very tricky. For this reason, buying a fixed LED display from a reputable manufacturer with years of practical experience in the business is the best way to invest in a fixed LED display.

Having known where to go to when you need a fixed LED display, let’s look at some basics about this contemporary display technology.

What Is A Good Pixel Pitch?

Very often, quite a good number of persons always say that the pixel pitch of a fixed LED display should reflect how long apart the viewer will be standing to reflect the pitch size, but this is not always the case.

One way to address this is to consider, for example, a standard 55″ television with an HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and juxtapose this with another 55″ TV, but this time with a 4k resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

The 4k resolution looks more majestic and breathtaking but the physical screen size is exactly the same.

This illustration can be used with fixed LED displays, the bigger the LED screen size and high overall pixel strength (resolution) the more impressive the display.

That being said, a very good rule of thumb for new arrivals to LED displays is that for every 1m apart you are from the screen you should have 1mm of pixel pitch.

So, for instance, if you don't want to look at each individual pixel when displaying from 2m you should have a pixel pitch of 2mm and for 3m it should be 3mm and on and on.

Types of Fixed LED Display

1. SMD LED or “surface mount devices”

This type of fixed LED display is gaining much popularity than its DIP predecessors due to the less energy consumed when in use.

This also guarantees a longer lifespan of about 100hrs in a normal working environment.

A very good SMD LED dissipates little heat and as such do not require much voltage /current as DIP LEDs.

SMD’s are usually mounted directly to the circuit boards and most times come in packages of RGB 3 in 1 and these RGB (red, green, and blue LEDs) can be combined to make many varied colors for essentially one pixel.

The LEDs also come in many different sizes and are usually measured in millimeters with the width and height written after the SMD.

For instance, SMD 3528 simply means SMD with a measurement of 35mm x 28mm.

2. COB LED (chip on board)

This type of fixed LED display comes in multiple LEDs packaged together and directly attached to a driver board.

It is coated with resin to help protect against dust particles, physical damage, humidity, and to some extent, water.

This also implies that the problem of low pixel failure will be effectively solved since there is a higher level of heat dissipation.

A coating of resin is applied which helps protect the LED display from dust, static, humidity, physical damage, and to some degree water.

The cleaning of conventional fixed LED displays can sometimes be difficult but with COB LED technology, you can easily wipe the dust with a cleaning cloth.

3.Micro-LED

This is the recent fine pitch LED display technology and allows manufacturers of LED screen to make extremely fine pixels pitches the can reach sub 1mm.

The technology is exclusively inorganic and does not suffer from image retention, burn-in and can come up to brighter levels while consuming minimal power.

There are some differences between Micro LED and conventional or Mini LED. Mini LED displays a pixel pitch which ranges from 0.1mm – 1mm while that of Micro LED has the least pixel below 0.1mm.

Conclusion

Having money is one thing, but getting value for money on what you buy is entirely a different ball game.

Yes, you can have the best experiences while shopping for one by partnering with a reliable and professional fixed LED display manufacturer.
